Melville is a hamlet of Huntington known primarily for its industry. Many national and international businesses have their headquarters here, including Nikon Corporation, Adecco and OSI Pharmaceuticals. The Long Island newspaper “Newsday,” is published in Melville and the television station WLNY-TV is based here.
Despite its major industries, Melville is not all business. Families visiting Melville will enjoy a trip to the White Post Animal Farm, a petting zoo featuring a farmers market and seasonal pumpkin picking. Melville also features a wide variety of restaurants for any taste and budget, from fine dining to kid and budget-friendly restaurants. Golfers can take in around at The Greens at Half Hollow Golf Course. Melville’s many offerings and proximity to all of Long Island’s fine attractions make it a great option for a Long Island vacation.
